One thousand years from now, aliens destroy Earth in fear of the Titan project. Some humans escape, becoming a downtrodden Diaspora, living in impoverished settlements. The mysterious Titan spacecraft also escapes, and its inventor has hidden it before dying. A spacecraft captain and its pilot, Korso and Akima, two humans, seek out Cale, the youthful son of the dead scientist and explain that he must help them find the Titan, which holds a mechanism to unite and save humanity. Cale refuses, but the arrival of the killer aliens persuades him to join Korso. Can he avoid his pursuers, know friend from foe, find the Titan, and embrace his humanity, a nature he has despised until now?
A young man learns that he has to find a hidden Earth ship before an enemy alien species does in order to secure the survival of humanity.
This movie was something else . There needs to be a second one man , there's got to be something after that Earth 2 thing. Like the new one is unstable , and is set to implode , or maybe another or of whatever they might be want E2 . But the second would need a lot of stuff to top the first , because the first had great voices , great acting , great action , and it was funny as hell too . So the second would need all of that , but like a whole new bar of everything 100% up. Make it "PG13" , and everything , go directly to the borders of how far a "PG13" movie can go . oh , and the second one needs six very important things "Janet Jackson , Chris Rock & Ron Perlman" . And as for the music you need to call the man Danny Elfman . I mean make "Matrix" look like a real bitch. Nothing bad on my word.
Much underrated and grossly ignored by a lot of people. Story line is good movie, and the characters are played well characters. Definitely a good addition to any DVD collection. Don Bluth is a very good story writer as he has shown with previous movies, Secret of NIHM and Land Before Time to just name a few. Partnering up with Goldman was a brilliant idea. Kales' character as the angsty abandoned teenager with a poor outlook on his future is believable. But he is a survivor. As for Gune, you got to love any nutsy character that Leguizama plays, as he gives it his all. I really enjoyed the CGI usage for the ice fields, and the FX used for that particular scene.
When it shifts into action mode, the movie can be a spectacular rush.
The Drej are an extraterrestrial race made of pure energy. They&#39;re driven to destroy all humankind, and almost succeed, because humans have become too advanced with technology. When the rebuilt ship in the drifter colony fail to launch Akima asks Cale if she should &quot;get out and push.&quot; Princess Leia asks the same question to Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) when Han is having problems getting the to take off from Hoth.<br/><br/>When the drifter ship is first shown, a piece of it resembles the Death Star. <br/><br/>There&#39;s a possible slave-woman being sold, similar to Princess Leia in &quot;Starwars: Return of the Jedi&quot;. In the scene of Cale seeing Akima for the first time he is whistling Sabu&#39;s song from the 1939 &quot;Thief of Baghdad&quot;<br/><br/>&quot;I want to be a bandit, can&#39;t you understand it?&quot;
